EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS

Dear Valued Customer:

Many things happen throughout our lives, good and bad, that affect us personally as well as on a business level. Bryan Bank & Trust realizes that we may be involved in a disaster or emergency-type situation that would not only negatively impact our business, but also the business and personal lives of our customers.

In the event of one of these unfortunate happenings, we want to do everything we can to ensure that we are able to recover as efficiently and quickly as possible to meet your banking needs. We have been and will be proactive and have in place a well-thought out, tested business continuity plan. We believe that it is important for us to inform you about this plan, especially those points that could prove to be helpful to you:

  • Alternate locations - Under the umbrella of The Savannah Bancorp, Inc., there are two banks, The Savannah Bank and Bryan Bank & Trust which allow us the flexibility to serve the essential banking needs of all of our customers at any of these facilities. Through current technology and progressive partnerships, our ability to recover and begin processing the essential daily transactions has been strengthened. If we were to experience a natural disaster large enough to prevent our return to Richmond Hill immediately after the event, we would reopen as soon as possible in one of our other facilities or in a mobile unit, if necessary.
  • Our Partners - Bryan Bank & Trust has reliable business partners who are well-respected in their fields. These companies provide services such as core processing, check clearing, and mobile rental units and have established disaster recovery plans for themselves. Additionally, they have well tested procedures in place to assist our Bank in the event of an emergency
  • ATMs - Bryan Bank & Trust allows our customers to use other ATM’s for access to their funds. During this time, any fees would be waived.
  • Communications – Updated information about our re-opening status will be available by dialing our toll-free Phone Banking number, 866-830-0487 (local 912-756-8353) or visiting our website at www.bryanbank.com.
  • Online Banking - The hardware and software that powers our internet banking services are remote and would not be damaged if our area were hit. If you have not already done so, you can sign up for internet banking by enrolling on line at www.bryanbank.com or by contacting one of our customer service representatives.
  • Phone Banking - Bryan Bank & Trust (local 912-756-8353; toll-free 866-830-0487) allows customers to call toll free from anywhere and obtain account specific information. You may also initiate transfers of funds between accounts if you are enrolled. Any of our customer service representatives would be happy to sign you up at no charge. As with internet banking, this service is housed remotely.
  • Borrowing needs - Bryan Bank & Trust realizes that many of our customers will need loans if a disaster were to occur in our area. We have the technology, including digital copies of any loan-related documentation, available to help us meet your needs during this time and from remote locations, if necessary.
  • Safe Deposit Boxes – Your safe deposit box is located in the bank vault of the branch office you selected. Our vaults are water and fire-resistant. If you are able to do so, please make every effort to take your safe box key with you in case you evacuate.
  • WHAT YOU CAN DO – Please see any of our customer service representatives to apply for a VISA Check Card if you do not already have one. This card will allow you to access your funds through ATMs and can be used with any merchant who accepts VISA. The card may be particularly useful to you during an emergency situation wherein checks are not accepted and/or you are low on cash. Also, please consider asking your employer to direct-deposit your pay check. With this service, you will not have to visit the Bank to know that your pay check has been safely deposited into your account. Again, please contact one of our customer service representatives for information on VISA check cards and direct deposit.

Bryan Bank & Trust has a comprehensive Business Continuity Plan that is internet-based (and is therefore easily accessible from any location) and has designated well-trained staff to manage this process. Additionally, our plan is tested by a nationally-recognized company on an annual basis. Our goal is to have in place a recovery process that will enable us to meet your banking needs as quickly as possible. Please call us at 912-629-6500 and request the Disaster Recovery Plan Administrator with any questions you may have. Thank you for banking with us!
